GAZE - Mobile Application UI Design
Project type
Moile Application Design
Date
May 2022 - August 2022
Location
Toronto
Launch Prototype
Challenge
Many LGBTQ+ people operate from a scarcity mindset, as there seems to be a lack of visible LGBTQ+ spaces, and this also makes them difficult to find.
Solution
Gaze proposes to produce a mobile application that is designed for the LGBTQ+ community to confidently navigate and interact in public spaces that embrace them as well as empower those who create them.
How might we effectively use a mobile application to:
Recognize, and support these ventures
Reflect diverse groups within the LGBTQ+ population
Promote community gathering
Gaze is a free-to-use transdisciplinary mobile application that encourages users to explore their current environment. It aims to create a unique, fun, and safe experience for users as they try to navigate their area. This application serves as a digital directory to foster a sense of community and navigate users to find safe, inclusive queer-friendly spaces in Toronto.
Gaze is an app and a community for LGBTQ+ people. It was born out of the need for a platform or tool that is more engaging and real than outdated (and unmoderated) online discussion boards. People can browse through carefully chosen locations and connect with others. Gaze encourages shared experiences by supporting local ventures, i.e., businesses, community centers, organizations and local event meet-ups.
